2021 Antimatter Blue Ford Bronco Driving Down a HillWhile both the 2021 Bronco and Bronco Sport are great options for the adventurous, they have some major differences that are important to make a note of. No matter what, each of these redesigned SUV’s offer style, high-end comfort, and advanced technology in addition to their legendary off-road performance. Below is a comparison of the 2021 Ford Bronco and the Bronco Sport so you can choose which might be the best option for you.

Exterior Design

These two Ford SUV options were designed for slightly different performance. The 2021 Bronco has exterior features such as the different top designs, both hard and soft top. It also has the option for removable doors, which can be stored onboard. This can get you an exhilarating open-air experience. The 2021 Bronco Sport comes with both attached doors and roof with an available option for a sunroof. It does offer a slightly smaller frame, which allows you to travel places the Bronco can’t.

Driving Systems

While both the Bronco and the Bronco Sport were designed to perform both on- and off-road, the Bronco offers two transfer cases, such as the on-the-fly unit with two-high, four-high, four-low, and neutral. With upgrades, there’s a full-time four-wheel-drive automatic mode. It offers G.O.A.T. mode, which stands for Goes Over Any Terrain, and comes with normal, sport, eco, sand, Baja, mud, slippery, and rock crawl modes.

The Bronco Sport also comes with two transfer cases. While neither offers low range, they both can send up to 50% of torque to rear wheels when they sense front-wheel slippage. Each Bronco Sport comes with sport, normal, eco, slippery, and sand driving modes, while the Badlands offers rock crawl and mud and ruts driving modes.

Engine Options

Under the hood of these Ford off-road-ready models, you find different engine options. The Bronco offers a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that delivers up to 310 pound-feet of torque and up to 270 horsepower. There’s also a 2.7-liter twin-charged V-6 EcoBoost option that gets you up to 400 pound-feet of torque and 310 horsepower.

The Bronco sport also offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost capable of delivering up to 190 pound-feet of torque and 181 horsepower. There’s also an available 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost that can deliver up to 275 pound-feet of torque and up to 245 horsepower.

Similar Features

Both of these retro, square-bodied SUVs offer outstanding off-road performance, exquisite style, and high-end features. While the Bronco can take you places the Sport can’t, they both can perform exceptionally well in a variety of road conditions. Each offers attention-demanding exterior features and a premium interior with advanced technology and capability, as well. We don’t favor one more than the other, but we understand that you might.
