2020 Ford Transit Connect

The Transit Connect is available as either a commercial cargo or passenger van. The cargo version is available as two trims: XL and XLT. The passenger van is available as the XL, XLT, and Titanium trim models. Both passenger and cargo vans are offered in short- and long-wheelbase versions, the latter of which increases interior space. The XL cargo van features 16-inch steel wheels and black body trim and bumpers. The XL passenger van adds power second-row windows and a rear window defroster. The XLT trim level includes fog lights and body-colored trim and bumpers. For both cargo and passenger vans, the Transit Connect XL and XLT models let you choose between a rear liftgate and rear doors that swing open 180 degrees. The Titanium passenger van is easy to spot because it's the one with the 16-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, and LED fog lights. This van also includes keyless entry and remote ignition — two features that make your workday go by very smoothly.

The 2020 Transit Connect derives its power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. A smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels.

When you've got heavy loads to move around town, the Transit Connect obliges. Depending on configuration and equipment, the Transit Connect can haul payloads of up to 1,620 pounds. This commercial van also offers a sturdy towing performance, towing trailers weighing up to 2,000 pounds.

Although the Transit Connect is designed for commercial use, it doesn't lack for modern comfort, convenience, or even luxury. The XL cargo van comes standard with a height-adjustable driver's seat and a four-speaker sound system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. In the XL passenger van, you'll find second- and third-row fold-flat seats and two cup holders in each row for a total of six. The XLT is even cushier, with cloth upholstery, wireless phone charging, and Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system. The passenger van version adds dual-zone climate control and a nine-speaker sound system to enhance your clients' cruising experience. The Titanium passenger van is set to impress, with leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. The HD radio and integrated navigation system help you get through especially long trips without missing a beat.

Every Transit Connect includes a number of helpful driver safety aids. The forward collision warning system includes both pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, so it can alert you to danger and intercede on your behalf. The standard rearview camera maximizes visibility when you're navigating cramped city spaces or crowded work sites. On the XLT and Titanium trim models, you'll find Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite of safety aids, which includes blind-spot monitoring, lane departure mitigation, and automatic high beams.
