2022 Ford Expedition

You can get your Ford Expedition in one of five trim levels and either the standard length or the Max version. If you opt for one of the Max trims, you'll get an extended-length body and wheelbase. Trim choices are the XL, XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. Seven brilliant paint colors let you add a little bit of your unique personality to the look of your SUV. You can choose from Antimatter Blue, Rapid Red, and Kodiak Brown, just to name a few. The base model provides appearance features such as black roof rack side rails, black running boards, and a five-bar gloss black grille. Upgrading your trim will get you additional features like a panoramic vista roof, a hands-free foot-activated liftgate, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Power for every trim level of the 2022 Expedition comes from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. With this capable block under the hood, your Expedition will pump out an impressive 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Shifting is provided by a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that takes this large SUV through the gears easily and proficiently.

Thanks to auto start/stop technology and a 23.3-gallon fuel tank, the Expedition can go further before having to refuel. It's capable of getting up to 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg when you take it out on the highway. If you want to take your Expedition off-road, opt for four-wheel drive. This upgrade gives you access to lots of additional features, including a terrain management system and hill descent control.

While the standard body style of the latest Expedition provides you with tons of room inside, go with a Max body style for a cavernous cargo area. In fact, when you fold both rear rows of seating down in the Max trims, you'll open the cargo area up to 121.5 cubic feet of space for your stuff. You can bring up to eight people along on your travels, or opt for the second row captain's chairs if you only need seating for up to seven people.

Ford offers an incredible suite of safety features with the 2022 Expedition. Automatic high-beam headlights are a great help when driving at night. They will automatically switch between high and low beams when oncoming traffic is sensed. Other features included with the suite are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking. Adaptive cruise control is available as an upgrade.
